Victor Pinchuk features in the list of the artworld’s 100 most influential people in 2008

A reputable British magazine ArtReview that recently announced the 2007 list of the artworld's 100 most influential people also named probable listees of the next year. The magazine is likely to include into the list the founder of PinchukArtCentre, Victor Pinchuk.

Representing Victor Pinchuk as a probable listee the ArtReview magazine pointed out that the "owner of the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv City (the only contemporary art space in the city) he was responsible for the starry national pavilion at this year's Venice Biennale, and its glamorous and somewhat oversubscribed party. Pinchuk boats friends in high places - Jay Jopling, Damien Hirst, Peter Doroshenko of the BALTIC Center in Gateshead, not to mention Elton John and Steven Spielberg. He also has an impressive contemporary art collection and bought one of the Tracy Emins hanging in the British Pavilion this summer.

As was reported earlier, ArtReview magazine published this year's list of the artworld's 100 most influential people. The works of 4 artists, listees of this year's ranking - Damien Hirst (6), Jeff Koons (13), Andreas Gursky (53) and Takashi Murakami (89) can be seen in Kyiv, in PinchukArtCentre at Reflection exhibition.

REFLECTION Exhibition in PinchukArtCentre is open for visitors from October 6 till December 30, 2007. PinchukArtCentre is open for visitors from Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 till 21:00. Admission is free.

PinchukArtCentre has marked its second year of operation by opening REFLECTION exhibition representing the newest acquisitions from PinchukArtCentre's collection. paintings, sculpture arts, installations, photos and video-installations created by the best artists of 21 century from Great Britain, Germany, Mexico, Poland, USA, Ukraine and Japan including: Antony Gormley, Andreas Gursky, Damien Hirst, Christian Marclay, Sarah Morris, Marc Quinn, Sam Taylor-Wood, Piotr Uklanski, Gabriel Orozco, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Peter Doig, Richard Phillips, Vasyl Tsagolov, Il, Serhiy Bratkov, Arsen Savadov, lya Chichkan & "Blue Noses".

PinchukArtCentre (Kyiv, Ukraine) is one of the largest centres of contemporary art in the Eastern Europe Its key activities include arranging exhibitions, seminars, master-classes, providing support to cultural projects, etc.
