Ukrainian Election Task Force to Hold Panel Discussion “Foreign Meddling in Ukraine's 2019 Presidential Election”

On March 13, 2019, the Atlantic Council, Victor Pinchuk Foundation, and Transatlantic Commission on Election Integrity will hold in Brussels a panel discussion “Foreign Meddling in Ukraine's 2019 Presidential Election” as part of the Ukrainian Election Task Force project. The LIVE streaming of the event will be available following the link. It will start at 13:30 (CET).

Ukraine is ground zero for foreign meddling. Five years after its illegal annexation of Crimea and its aggression in Eastern Ukraine, it is likely that Moscow, along with other malign foreign actors, will attempt to again interfere in Ukrainian elections. The three organizations are assembling a panel of experts and leaders to present how these elections will transform the direction of Ukraine and its geopolitical orientation.

Among the speakers of the discussion are: Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Founder & Co-Chairman, Rasmussen Global; Svitlana Grytsenko, Director of National Programs, Victor Pinchuk Foundation; David J. Kramer, Team Lead, Ukrainian Election Task Force, Senior Fellow, Vaclav Havel Program for Human Rights and Diplomacy, Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs, Florida International University; Kenneth Geers, Cyber Analyst, Ukrainian Election Task Force, Senior Fellow, Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, Atlantic Council; Kateryna Kruk, Disinformation Analyst, Ukrainian Election Task Force, Communications Specialist, StopFake; Oleksiy Melnyk, Kinetic Lead, Ukrainian Election Task Force, Co-Director, Foreign Relations and International Security Programs, Razumkov Centre. John Herbst, Director, Eurasia Center, Atlantic Council, will moderate the discussion.

The Atlantic Council, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, and the Transatlantic Commission on Election Integrity launched the Ukrainian Election Task Force to monitor, evaluate, and disclose foreign subversive activities in Ukraine. They work with Ukrainian institutions and analysts, including StopFake, Razumkov Centre, and Detector Media to maximize our rapid-response capabilities.
