Rehabilitation centre of the RECOVERY national network founded by Victor and Olena Pinchuk has opened in Dnipro

The RECOVERY innovative rehabilitation centre for wounded soldiers was opened in Dnipro. This is the first centre of the RECOVERY national network founded by Victor and Olena Pinchuk. Ten RECOVERY centers will run in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa (two centres), Rivne, Khmelnytsky, and Cherkasy Oblasts. The founders have allocated $11.5 million for the project.

The RECOVERY centres are unique, built to the highest international standards. They feature the cutting-edge physiotherapy equipment and physical recovery rooms with VR devices offering feedback with the patients. The complex of simulators and rehabilitation devices covers the entire range of functional disorders in patients (including those, received as a result of mine-explosive injuries) and bring the patients to normal life, using high technologies.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, many injured defenders who need further treatment and rehabilitation end up in the front-line Dnipro. Rehabilitation is needed from the first day, because the recovery effectiveness of the lost functions and the subsequent quality of life of patients depend on timely rehabilitation measures.

The RECOVERY centre in Dnipro is already treating the first patients. The department of physiotherapy and rehabilitation has been renovated, the wards are equipped according to the requirements of inclusiveness. Multifunctional beds with an electric drive and furniture are installed for a comfortable and convenient stay of patients. The center is equipped with 30 beds, so that yearly more than 600 wounded soldiers would be able to receive complex rehabilitation assistance here.

More than 11,000 patients will be able to receive rehabilitation assistance at RECOVERY centers annually across the country.

On the first day of operation of the RECOVERY center in Dnipro, businessman and project founder Victor Pinchuk visited it. He met with soldiers undergoing rehabilitation and doctors.

Victor Pinchuk, founder of the RECOVERY project:

"Our Heroes are risking their lives, defending the freedom and future of Ukraine. My wife Olena and I are honoured to help them recover from injuries and return to a full life. Unfortunately, the war has shown that the rehabilitation and support of wounded soldiers will be an important task for years to come. Ukraine needs a consistent approach and assistance from the private sector. Therefore, we decided to launch as quickly as possible a network of state-of-the-art rehabilitation centres across Ukraine on sites of state hospitals. The RECOVERY centres are unique as they are the synergy of professionalism of Ukrainian rehabilitation specialists and innovative equipment. This will take the rehabilitation practices in Ukraine to a completely new level."

Alla Pivnyk, Head of Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy, leader of the multidisciplinary team in Dnipro:

"Now our RECOVERY centre has the cutting-edge equipment and VR devices that provide feedback with the patients. The new equipment offers a wide range of functions. Each device is like a spaceship! This will definitely enable more effective recovery of the patients who need rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation means life. It means functionality. It means independence and self-reliance."
