On October 1 the Victor Pinchuk Foundation starts the 6th Annual all-Ukrainian competition of the "Zavtra.UA" Sholarship Program

Zavtra.UAApplication process for all students willing to participate in the annual nationwide competition for Zavtra.UA scholarship program from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation has started on October 1, 2011. Documents submission and online registration is open at zavtra.in.ua till October 25, 2011.

Zavtra.UA scholarship program is the first in Ukraine privately funded nationwide initiative to support the gifted youth. Its main goal is to facilitate formation and strengthening of a new generation of domestic intellectual and business elites.

Zavtra.UA scholarship holders are selected annually in an open nationwide competition among full-time students of the 3-6 year from the universities of the 4th level of accreditation and program partner universities. The selection criteria are: academic excellence, leadership qualities, communication skills and creativity.

Today the program covers all Ukrainian regions, and the number of Zavtra.UA partner universities grew from 11 to 75 over the last five years since launch of the program. Since then, more than 1 400 students became scholarship holders.

Zavtra.UA scholarship holders receive a monthly stipend of UAH 942, which allows them to concentrate on the pursuit of academic excellence. The program also provides them with additional opportunities for professional and personal development and networking. Additionally, young scholars take part in Zavtra.UA Youth Forum, Annual Meetings of YES, and Public Lectures featuring leading figures from business, politics and culture; they engage in other projects of the Foundation and PinchukArtCentre.

Since program launch, scholarship holders attended Public Lectures given by 42nd President of the US Bill Clinton, Prime Minister of Great Britain (1997-2007) Tony Blair, President of Israel Shimon Peres, 65th State Secretary of the USA Colin Powell, 7th Secretary General of the UN Kofi Annan, winner of Nobel Peace Prize 2006 Muhammad Yunus, others.

Supported by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, the scholarship holders developed and successfully implemented more than 50 social projects, including “Nature Reserve” project (landscaping and provision of recreation amenities at nature reserves and history-and-culture complexes throughout Ukraine), "Ukrainian Agrarian Summer School" (training courses and workshops for agriculture students), "Art Studio" (folk art master classes for children) and a number of other initiatives oriented towards cultural education, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, development of interactive communications, etc.
