Victor Pinchuk Foundation to support winning projects of 3rd edition of “YOU Camp - Youth, Opportunities, Unity”

On July 16-20, 2019, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s Zavtra.UA scholarship programme, with the support of Coca-Cola Foundation, held the 3^rd summer camp, “YOU Camp – Youth, Opportunities, Unity” for Ukrainian students. 100 participants – 50 students from temporarily displaced universities from the occupied territories of the Eastern Ukraine and 50 from universities of other regions – came together to develop 10 projects geared toward social integration of youth in Ukraine. Four best ideas will enjoy funding from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

The first place has been won by project “MOVua – exquisitely yours”, aiming at promoting the Ukrainian language in the way of creating possibilities for substituting the Surzhyk in everyday life.

The second place has been given to project “TYU, and You are almost a Lawyer”, providing for creation of information and tress-relief content on the matters of law. More specifically, the project seeks to provide information on legal issues in cases of human rights infractions in everyday situations.

The third place has been shared between projects “#unigender” and “Security, Youth Perspective”.

“#unigender” seeks to fight stereotypes, including those regarding men.

“Security, Youth Perspective” is intended to provide a basis for an active involvement of the youth in decision making and forecasting potential changes in the state’s security policy, and general understanding of the concept of national security and its elements.

The jury that has selected the winners included: Taras Doronyuk, director for development at the Kyiv School of Economics, Svitlana Grytsenko, director of national programmes at the Victor Pinchuk Foundation,  Denys Gursky, founder of 1991 incubator, and Olga Kudina, corporate social responsibility officer at Coca-Cola Ukraine.

YOU Camp continues in the tradition of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s successful cooperation with the Coca-Cola Foundation. In 2013-2015, the Climate Change Camp was organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation with the support of the Coca-Cola Foundation and gave Zavtra.UA scholarship holders the opportunity to raise awareness to environmental problems and provide incentives to address them. In 2018, the Coca-Cola Foundation supported the 2^nd YOU Camp.

The goal of the Zavtra.UA programme for the past 13 years has been to create a new generation of change makers: a generation with excellent education and skills, with mastery of the best international practices and ideas; a generation that will think and feel differently, and so be able to make an important contribution to building the country. The program has been fulfilling the mission of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation to empower new generations to become the change-makers of tomorrow since 2006.
