Американку Хайдемари Стефанишин-Пайпер - первую женщину-астронавта украинского происхождения - вчера принял Президент Украины Виктор Ющенко. Глава государства, сообщивший о награждении астронавта орденом Княгини Ольги III степени, отметил, что в Украине ее полет в космос был встречен с большим воодушевлением. "Мы гордимся тем, что вы отлично выполнили программу космической миссии", - цитирует Виктора Ющенко пресс-служба Президента.

Виктор Ющенко поблагодарил Хайдемари за то, что она сохранила преданность украинским языку и традициям, а также за то, что не забывала об Украине даже во время полета в космос (как сообщали "ФАКТЫ", на орбиту астронавт брала с собой записи украинских песен и сине-желтый флаг). "Украина всегда будет рада встретить вас и вашу семью на своей земле", - подчеркнул глава государства.

PinchukArtCentre has announced the names of the Selection Committee members who will decide upon the shortlist of candidates for the PinchukArtCentre Prize 2015, a first privately funded nationwide award in contemporary art for young Ukrainian artists up to 35.

On Saturday, May 30, 2015, the PinchukArtCentre will present “Borderline. Ukrainian Art 1985–2004”, a large scale group show of Ukrainian artists exploring development of the Ukrainian contemporary art from early 1980s till 2004 when the Orange Revolution had happened in the country. In conjunction with the group project, a solo show “Mute” by Ukrainian artist Zinaїda Lihacheva will take place in the context of PAC-UA.
