Next century the global energy market could develop in one of two directions: either hydrocarbons (scenario “Mountain”) or solar energy (scenario “Oceans”) will become the major energy source, Graham Tiley, Country Chair, Shell Ukraine, stated on Friday at the 10th Annual Meeting of YES “Changing Ukraine in a Changing World: Factors of Success” held in the Crimean Livadia Palace.
The energy security issue is central to the Ukraine’s survival. So stated Leonid Kuchma, President of Ukraine from 1994-2004, at the session “Energy: Threats, Solutions, Revolutions” at the 10th Annual Meeting of Yalta European Strategy.
The next decade will see a period of competition between conventional and renewable energy sources, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuriy Boyko, stated at the 10th Annual Meeting of YES “Changing Ukraine in a Changing World: Factors of Success” in the Crimean’s Livadia Palace on Friday.
