The Victor Pinchuk Foundation opened Cradles of Hope neonatal centre in Kherson

On 7 July 2010 on the basis of Kherson Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation opened the twenty first “Cradles of Hope” Neonatal Centre under the Program bearing the same name. Overall, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation allocated UAH 1 279 370 for setting up the Cradles of Hope Neonatal Centre in Kherson.

To equip the Departments of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, Kherson Regional Children’s Hospital received the invasive and non invasive artificial pulmonary ventilation equipment, incubators for newborn care; open intensive care unit; monitoring units to control the vital signs of the newborns; modern phototherapy laser lamps; infusion pumps; a computer workstation and other.

The medical equipment bought for Kherson “Cradles of Hope” Neonatal Centre will not only offer more patient beds in the hospital departments, but also widen the professional opportunities for the neonatal centre specialists in providing emergency care for infants, help improve the survival rate of the extremely premature infants and quality of their lives in the future.

Since program launch, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation spent UAH 33 740 981 in total to implement the “Cradles of Hope” project.

On 3 December 2020, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation's Cradles of Hope programme hosted its 12th conference themed “Specific Matters of Neonatal Intensive Care” in Kyiv. The event, held online for the first time this year, introduced Ukrainian neonatologists to new trends in intensive care for newborns, including preterm infants.
