Board of Yalta European Strategy (YES) meets top EU decision-makers in Strasbourg

Today, March 9, 2011 the Board of YES will discuss prospects of Ukraine’s integration into the European Union with high-ranking officials of the EU and European Council, during the European Parliament’s session in Strasbourg. YES will meet with the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Füle, and Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland.

The Board of YES will also meet with representatives of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

During this visit the Board of YES is represented by Aleksander Kwasniewski, President of Poland (1995-2005), Chairman of the Board of YES; Mario David, member of the European Parliament, Vice President of the European People's Party, member of the Board of YES; Victor Pinchuk, founder and member of the Board of YES; Aleksander Rahr, program director, German Council on Foreign Relations, member of the Board of YES; Marek Siwiec, member of the European Parliament, member of the Board of YES; Jean-Pierre Saltiel, President of Rothschild Conseil International (1994-2004), member of the Board of YES, others.

Yalta European Strategy (YES) – is an international independent network promoting the development of a just, democratic and prosperous Ukraine and supporting reforms necessary for Ukraine’s eventual EU accession. YES serves as a platform where decision-makers discuss global challenges, present new approaches and shape strategies for the region. Since 2004, the Yalta Annual Meetings of YES have brought together leading decision-makers including Tony Blair, William J. Clinton, Stefan Füle, Bronislaw Komorowski, Aleksei Kudrin, Shimon Peres, Gerhard Schröder, Javier Solana, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, James Wolfensohn, and Joschka Fischer.

YES is governed by a distinguished international board: Mario David, Stephane Fouks, Aleksander Kwasniewski (Chairman), Victor Pinchuk, Alexander Rahr, Jean-Pierre Saltiel, Javier Solana and Marek Siwiec.

The Vinnytsia Mental Health Center of the nationwide RETURNING network (ukr. ПОВЕРНЕННЯ) will provide free professional psychological support to more than 4,000 military personnel, veterans, and their families every year. The project was founded by Victor and Olena Pinchuk to support the mental health of Ukraine’s defenders, veterans, and their family members who have experienced the psychological consequences of the war caused by Russian aggression.

On 7 May 2026, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and the PinchukArtCentre opened the project “Still Joy — From Ukraine Into the World” which is an official Collateral Event of the 61st International Art Exhibition — La Biennale di Venezia. During the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by Victor Pinchuk, businessman and philanthropist, founder of the PinchukArtCentre; Tetyana Berezhna, Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy of Ukraine and Minister of Culture of Ukraine; the exhibition’s curators Björn Geldhof, Artistic Director of the PinchukArtCentre, and Oleksandra Pogrebnyak. Hlib Stryzhko, a veteran and marine who returned from Russian captivity, and Yuliia “Phobia” a senior sergeant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, marine and combat medic, also addressed the audience.
