The main topic of the Roundtable will be the effects of the global financial crisis on the philanthropic activity and prospects for philanthropy development. The participants will hold discussions as to what extend the current situation in financial and economic sectors will reflect on the scale of the charity foundations activity, whether we should expect a significant reduction of charity contributions globally and what social after-effects can be expected as a result of such reduction. The Roundtable debate will keep its focus on the philanthropy's ability to remain in future one of the key factors of social progress, filling main social needs and requirements of people, and also on the new potential philanthropic models that might emerge after the economy has recovered.

Nearly 200 people, including the World Economic Forum participants, representatives of commercial, charitable and non-government organisations and mass media, will take part in the Roundtable discussions.
